Dear Daniel M. Ashe, Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service:

I am writing to ask for your help on behalf of the green sea turtle in Hawaii, otherwise known as the honu.

Commercial fishing, habitat erosion, and harvesting of honu eggs threaten the species with the distinct possibility of extinction. However, the fact that humans have much to do with this plight is also encouraging; we can do something about it.

This means keeping turtles at their current status of "endangered" so that those who interfere with their proliferation are punished accordingly. It also means working closely with humans in the area as well as other nations to ensure the imminent risk is universally recognized.

Please do all you can to see that the honu doesn't continue on the path towards extinction.
