Bullying is something that humans have been doing to each other for a long time, but in California, humans have crossed over into the animal kingdom and reached an all-time low with the practice of hounding. Hounding involves fitting packs of dogs with radio collars and setting them free to chase down animals like bears and cougars. GPS tracking devices allow hunters to find where the dogs have cornered the frightened animals.

These hunts can take unexpected courses because the dogs encounter and harass other unintended animals. They can also cause nuisances for surrounding homes. The humans aren't there to intervene, so the dogs have free reign.

In addition, the dogs used are often treated simply as tools of the trade, not lovingly as pets.

Write to the California Fish and Game Commission asking they immediately address the important issue of hounding as a hunting tactic.
