Sponsored by: The Autism Site

Families in the United States are struggling more than ever in the face of autism insurance discrimination as well as a lack of resources, assistance, and support. It's no secret that families dealing with autism are exceedingly underrepresented.

A new piece of legislation called the Autism Services and Workforce Acceleration Act, if passed, would create a national initiative to provide more comprehensive support for people with autism. It is intended to provide critical educational and vocational services to adults — a demographic where autism support falls drastically after primary education. It also aims to give residential assistance to adults.

We cannot underestimate the importance of providing support to those who are dealing with autism. Sign the petition in support of the Autism Services and Workforce Acceleration Act today.

Dear Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL), Bob Casey (D-PA), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY):

I am writing to thank you for your continued dedication to families in America who are facing autism today. You recently introduced the Autism Services and Workforce Acceleration Act to Congress. This important piece of legislation aims to provide more comprehensive services to those with autism, such as postsecondary education, employment assistance, and help with housing.

Today, much of the autism support offered in childhood drops off drastically as the child becomes an adult. Programs and services to help adults with autism lag far behind those offered through the primary school system.

Please continue to fight on behalf of people with autism.

Thank you!
