Sponsored by: The Autism Site

There are many conflicting schools of thought when it comes to autism, but evidence to support the idea that autism therapy helps in development is overwhelming. And with autism rates soaring worldwide, now is the time to expand these critical programs.

Health insurance companies Health Net and Cigna agreed in February 2012 to begin covering behavioral therapy for autism. Autism therapy has been proven to help many people with autism improve their speech patterns, learn how to interact with others, and most importantly improve their daily lives.

For many families, this astronomically expensive treatment just wouldn't be possible without the help of insurance coverage.

Send a note to Health Net and Cigna thanking them for recognizing the importance of improving the lives of those with autism.

Dear executives at Health Net and Cigna,

Your companies recently took a tremendous step forward in the fight for people with autism: Health Net and Cigna agreed to include autism therapy under the list of conditions covered by the provider.

This coverage will allow many families to seek the treatment they need when they may not have otherwise been able to afford it. Autism therapy can reach into the hundreds of thousands of dollars over just one lifetime, and it's no secret that most people simply wouldn't be equipped to handle these costs on their own.

I commend you for advocating for individuals with autism and for setting the standard for other insurance providers.

Sincerely,

Petition Signatures
