American Airlines worker runs for her mother, a breast cancer survivor

Debbie Hamilton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, runs the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure every year for her mother who has been a breast cancer survivor for the past 28 years. This year was no different, according to the news channel KOTV-TV.

Hamilton has worked at American Airlines for the past 23 years, and the company has made quite the impact.

"Along with all of that I have the American Airlines family, and you can see in the pictures of all the American Airlines family that has got with me and we've all come together," Hamilton told the news source. "American has done very well since we started doing this."

American Airlines now has eight planes that are decked out in pink ribbons to help bring positive breast cancer health news to light. The airline has also pledged to donate $1 million each year for the next eight years to help find a cure, the media outlet reports.

According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women in the U.S. will eventually be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point during their lifetime.
