Black Beauty Ranch adds tigers to its mix

Following a law enforcement raid on a roadside zoo in Mississippi, the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch welcomed several "exotics" to the animal sanctuary in Texas better known as a refuge for horses.

Following an undercover investigation by The Humane Society of the United States, eleven exotic animals -- three tigers, three cougars, two leopards, two wolf-hybrids, and one macaque monkey -- were removed from the unaccredited Collins Zoo in January. HSUS coordinated the safe placement of these animals at sanctuaries like Black Beauty.

After living years of their lives in small, filthy pens with very little space or enrichment, these animals were transfered better life in qualified sanctuaries. In their new special enclosures built for them at Black Beauty, the three tigers and two wolf-hybrids can receive proper care.'s donations to the Fund For Animals sanctuaries are supported by The Animal Rescue Site's "Click Here To Give" program.
