Company donates over $100,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Streamlight, Inc. headlined Pink Ribbon activities news on July 14th when the company donated a large sum of money to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Streamlight donated $109,000 to the nonprofit foundation that focuses its efforts on breast cancer prevention and finding a cure. Streamlight, a manufacturer of flashlights, has donated more than $200,000 in total to BCRF from the sales proceeds of its pink flashlights.

The director of marketing for Streamlight, Loring Grove, a breast cancer survivor said, "Breast cancer has such a devastating impact on so many American women and their families, and Streamlight is proud to do its part to help raise money for a cure."

The manufacturer introduced a pink mini-flashlight keychain with the pink breast cancer ribbon in 2009, and in 2010 Streamlight started selling a pink version of one of its larger flashlights.

The American Cancer Society estimates that roughly 230,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States, and slightly fewer than 40,000 will lose their lives to the disease. Approximately one out of every 35 women, or about three percent, dies from breast cancer.
