"Programs like this are wonderful…." Alison in Mississippi, a mother of two, at a food bank in the Feeding America network. Watch her story now.
Feeding America met Alison at the Pinelake Care Center, a food pantry in Mississippi. A mother of two, Alison has gone to several job interviews in the last few months with little luck. Every day she worries about basics, such as keeping her heat and water turned on. Without help from Pinelake Care Center, she knows it would be even tougher to make ends meet.
With government cutbacks on all levels, food banks are losing funding while seeing unprecedented numbers of new families, like Alison’s, who need their help. Feeding America’s own employees have pitched in, offering an unprecedented $109,598 matching grant to help fill the gap.
Feeding America is the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity, with nationwide network of member food banks and a recipient of more than $400,000 in grants from GreaterGood.org since 2007.
