Robin Roberts to speak at Colorado luncheon

Breast cancer survivor and co-anchor of ABC's "Good Morning America", Robin Roberts, will speak at the Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group's 17th annual Celebration of Life Luncheon to share her experiences and offer her own perspectives on how to combat the deadly disease, according to VailDaily.com.

Roberts is a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed in June 2007 and is now in remission. She also released a book, From the Heart: Seven Rules to Live By, which is a story of inspiration and courage with stories from her upbringing as well as her struggle with breast cancer.

Roberts has been a vocal advocate for breast cancer research and awareness since her diagnosis and has become a popular speaker at luncheons and fundraisers alike. The Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group has done significant work for the people of their area, raising nearly $800,000 over the past 17 years.

The luncheon will take place July 22 at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort & Spa.

The Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group's mission is to ease the financial and emotional burdens endured by breast cancer patients in Eagle County, Colorado, according to their website.
