Women can remind themselves to do self-breast exams by using their 'Man Reminder'

A new application helps young women remind themselves to perform self-breast exams - and their reminder consists of a good-looking man telling them to check for signs of breast cancer, according to ABC News.

The application is called "Your Man Reminder," and women are able to choose from a couple different "hot guys."

"We wanted a way for young women to be reminded to be familiar with their breasts in a fun, cute way that would not spark fear and go viral," Alison Gordon, vice president of strategic marketing and communications for the Canadian charity Rethink Breast Cancer, told the news source.

Gordon adds that the application is targeting the younger generations, ensuring that young women know what to look for in case there is an irregularity, the media outlet reports.

According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point during her lifetime. It is recommended that once a woman turns 40, she should start scheduling annual mammograms to ensure that she does not have the disease.
