My name is Julie and I turned 40 in February.

At the age of 37 I was diagnosed with Stage I Melanoma. I am so fortunate that my Melanoma was Stage I, as my only treatment was surgery.

Then at the age of 39 I was diagnosed with Stage IIb Breast Cancer. I chose to have a bilateral mastectomy. My surgery was in December 2011. I then began a two drug chemotherapy treatment that lasted 4 months. I started my 6.5 weeks of radiation in April and I will finish my last week this very week.

Along with my health issues, my wonderful husband Greg has been diagnosed with Huntington's Disease. His disease is progressive, so I have no other option than to get back to 100% so that I can care for him as he worsens.

We have two beautiful children, Josh who is 20 and Cassidy who is 18.

Life sure has thrown our family some curve balls these last few years, but I am so lucky that both of my cancers were caught early. I count my blessings every single day.
