MY BRIDE'S ORDEAL

Sam couldn't wait to see us. He said so on the phone. Christmas was coming, and Sam was full of typical three-year old excitement! Life for him was a delightful tangle of Santa Claus, coloured lights, presents, and Grandpa and Grandma's visit!! "HURRY GRANDPA..I need to see you NOW!!" We smiled, as my bride and I packed our bags, and left on our long, two day trip south to Charlotte, to see our Sammy. We had waited a long time for this.
We arrived in Charlotte just in time to help our daughter with a Christmas Benefit she and her friend were hosting for needy area children. My bride's sore back prevented her from helping much, but as is her usual fare, she enjoyed herself anyway, and didn't complain. At the end of the evening, our daughter introduced us to a local doctor who was also helping with the benefit. Noticing that my bride seemed to be in some discomfort, he questioned her about it, and offered to see her in his clinic the next day.
