I am a breast cancer almost one year survivor! Back in November, 2011, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, Stage 1. I never thought it would happen to me. My surgery (Mastectomy) to remove the cancer was on January, 2012. During the surgery the doctor found another tumor that was hidden. I had both types (Invasive Lobular and Invasive Ductal) of breast cancer in my right breast. I was emotional but I knew I could fight this, and I did! After the surgery I had two type of testing (gene and Oncotype DX) done to determine if chemo and radiation was required. The test came back that no chemo or radiation was required because my chances of getting the breast cancer again was very slim. So my doctor placed me on Tamoxifen for 5 years. I am currently going thru the reconstruction phase and will be complete by the end of September, 2012. I am truly thankful for my family and friends that were there with me thru the whole process. I am truly thankful to god for bringing the right doctors in my path and for holding my hand thru this whole thing. I am a proverbs 31 woman with the armor of god on me and no sickness or disease will ever stand against me again. What the devil does for harm, god does for good. This whole thing has made me stronger and more faithful in god. I have a long life ahead of me.
