Every student deserves access to a great school. But students are often forced to attend low-performing schools simply because of their zip codes, and they have limited options to enroll elsewhere.

In too many neighborhoods, parents must enroll their kids in schools that are failing children. Right now, parents have limited power to demand the changes needed to improve their schools. You can help.

StudentsFirst is working to establish policies that empower parents of students in failing schools to 'trigger' changes. Parent trigger laws allow parents to come together and turnaround low-achieving schools. These laws are increasingly making headlines thanks to the movie Won't Back Down.

Parents and students can't afford to wait for schools to get better. Parent trigger empowers them to make change happen now.

Join today and speak up in support of policies that empower parents to create great schools for their children.

I believe every student deserves access to a great school. Because school assignments are typically tied to studentsÂ’ zip codes, some children are forced to attend failing schools simply because of where they live. That's unacceptable.

I support the creation of policies to empower parents to create bold changes when their children are attending failing schools. This includes policies like the "parent trigger," which allows parents to petition for the turnaround of a persistently low-achieving school.

Parents and students can't afford to wait for schools to get better. The parent trigger empowers them to make change happen now.
