Since 1985, the International AIDS Conference has served as a forum for people from all over the world who are involved with the disease to come together and discuss the global effort to eradicate HIV and AIDS.
This year the conference meets in America for the first time since 1990 and will continue the conversation about the course toward a cure, involving influential policy leaders, people fighting for a cure, and people living with HIV/AIDS.
We need to remind our representatives to put differences aside, to come together in unity for this cause, and most importantly to keep the more than 35 million people living with AIDS at the forefront of their minds.
Tell International AIDS Conference members to work together to intensify the political and financial commitment to eradicating HIV and AIDS.
Dear International AIDS Conference attendees:
As the 2012 International AIDS Conference draws nearer, I want to take this opportunity to ask that you intensify your commitment to this monumental cause.
There are more than 35 million people worldwide living with AIDS, and more than 3 million will be infected in the year 2012 alone. It's no secret that AIDS has reached epidemic proportions.
This year you can renew your promise to continue the discussion until the very last person living with HIV/AIDS has been cured.
I look forward to hearing the results of this year's meeting.
