Diabetes is a disease that affects hundreds of millions of people in the United States today. The Special Diabetes Program has helped many people learn to live and cope with this debilitating disease, and has made significant strides in researching and preventing diabetes. A government-funded venture, the Special Diabetes Program is going to expire next year. We need to ensure that the people who need help the most will have access to the care they need.

Sign the petition asking Director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Thomas R. Frieden, MD to lend his support to the Special Diabetes Program and to see to it that this important project doesn't expire.

Dear Director Thomas R. Frieden,

I am writing to ask that you lend your support to the Special Diabetes Program — a program that helps millions of people living with diabetes every year. This program also funds research into the debilitating disease and offers patients methods of prevention and coping skills.

The Special Diabetes Program has helped countless people, yet it is scheduled to expire next year. We need to stand up for those with diabetes and demand that the program remain alive and running. Since you are the director of the CDC, I am asking that you use your influence to ensure this crucial program stay open and that funding continues to go toward research, prevention, and care.

Please advocate on behalf of the hundreds of millions of Americans living with diabetes and see to it that the Special Diabetes Program continues to lobby for people in need.

Sincerely,

Petition Signatures
