Close to 2,000 people have been killed by the floods that have battered Pakistan since the beginning of August. Hundreds of thousands of people have been affected by this disaster, with countless having lost their homes and livelihood. Crop fields have been destroyed, roadways are no longer in use, and complete villages have been decimated.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has stepped up to the forefront of the Pakistan relief efforts, having revealed aid and reconstruction plans that will once again help supply power to the country, provide medical treatment, and address the city's water supply issues.

Dear Secretary Clinton,
I want to express my deepest gratitude to you for stepping forward and taking charge of the United States' relief efforts for Pakistan. The recent flooding that has happened as a result of seasonal monsoons has rendered almost 2,000 people dead and countless more without homes, food, or necessary medical treatment. As one of the wealthiest countries in the world, we have a moral obligation to come to this poor country's aid.
You have done a tremendous job in coming forth with plans to rebuild Pakistan and provide aid to its people. I commend your efforts and encourage you to continue your advocacy on Pakistan's behalf.
Thank you for your time.
