It's no secret that hybrid cars are one compelling solution to the greenhouse gas emissions we create every year. That's why it's important that the government provide incentives and rewards for people to purchase clean vehicles.
California created one such law back in 2005 — it allows hybrid car drivers to utilize the carpool lane at any time, regardless of number of passengers in the car. As a result of this clever legislation, the demand for hybrid cars increased exponentially.
But the law is going to expire soon. Write to California lawmakers asking them to reinstate this important law and to encourage the sales of clean, fuel-efficient automobiles!
Dear California legislature:
I applaud your efforts in attempting to create demand for hybrid vehicles by allowing hybrid owners to utilize the carpool lane at all times. This landmark legislation created a huge demand for clean vehicles in California.
But the law is set to expire soon. We need to continue to support the use of clean, fuel-efficient vehicles by giving environmentally-conscious consumers incentives to do so.
There is no reason this law cannot and should not be extended. Please take a step for the environment and see that this bill remains in place!
Thank you for your time.
