Jasper National Park, located in the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains, is a massive pristine park that is home to glaciers, soaring mountaintops, waterfalls, and various wildlife like grizzly bears, mountain goats, and wolverines. Right now the park is in public hands, but a part of it is at risk for privatization.
If the Canadian government allows a section of Jasper to be privately owned, it could be the end of the park's pristine nature as we know it. An American company wants to install a mega-walkway at the entrance of the park, which would require visitors to pay to enter. This money would fall into the hands of the American private sector — and do nothing for the preservation of Jasper!
Send a note to Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper asking him to oppose any privatization of Jasper National Park.
Dear Prime Minister Harper:
I am writing to you today to ask for your support on a critical issue — the privatization of Jasper National Park located in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Jasper National Park is home to some of the most beautiful sights to be seen, including soaring mountains, ancient glaciers, and precious plant and wildlife. But an American company is looking to buy a part of the park in order to install a mega-walkway. This would not only pave the way for industrialization in this pristine location, but it would also ensure the profits from visitors will funnel to the American company — and do nothing for the preservation of the park.
Please do not let this happen! It is up to you to make sure Jasper National Park is kept in its natural condition.
Thank you for your time.
