The Giant Sequoia National Monument is one of the most majestic and awe-inspiring locations in the United States. Nestled at the southern end of California's stunning Sierra Nevada mountain range, the Sequoia Monument is home to the tallest trees on Earth — some close to 300 feet. The Sequoia National Monument is naturally home to many animal species as well.
Despite all of its commanding beauty, the Sequoia Monument is in grave danger. The US Forest Service has revealed plans to log the forest, creating space for commercial and residential development.
We can't stand idly by while the Forest Service moves forward with plans that will destroy precious plant and wildlife. Sign the petition asking the Forest Service Supervisor asking they halt all of their plans for logging in the Sequoia National Monument.
Dear Forest Service Supervisor,
Your plans to move forward with logging in the beautiful Sequoia National Forest are quite disturbing. The Sequoia Monument is centuries-old, and consists of some of the tallest trees on Earth. These majestic groves of trees are a huge source of oxygen for the world and provide habitats for countless animal species. There is truly no place like the Sequoia Monument in the world.
Yet the Forest Service has put forth plans to log these forests and cut down significant amounts of the beautiful sequoias to clear space for developments.
The Forest Service should be concerned with the conservation of the trees as well as the wellbeing of the life that inhabits them — not with fostering projects that have only to do with profit.
Don't take part in destroying a piece of history. Please consider dropping your plans to log the Sequoia National Forest.
