Public interest and environmental conservation aren't usually two issues that go hand in hand. And that's exactly the problem with a bill that's currently waiting to be voted upon in the Senate. Under the guise of animal population management, the Sportsmen's Heritage Bill (H.R. 4089) would allow for industrialization such as logging and road construction in America's wilderness. It claims these allowances will promote recreational hunting and consequently profits associated with hunting permits.

But hunting and fishing are already allowed in much of America’s wilderness. The only difference would be increased industrial activity.

H.R. 4089 is sneaky. It's trying to "promote conservation" by making way for industrial development. Does anyone see anything wrong with that logic?
