America's veterans are some of the most dedicated and selfless people around. That's why it's our job to take care of them in every capacity after they have served. This means taking care of their children, too.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recently unveiled provisions that would cover the health expenses of newborn children of women veterans in the Veteran Omnibus Health Services Act of 2010.
This means that, as our troops return home from deployment, mothers will be able to care for their babies without concern about coverage.
Thank the VA for providing this necessary care to our female veterans!
Dear Eric Shinseki, Secretary of Veterans Affairs:
Thank you for introducing the provision that will allow millions of American female veterans to gain access to health care for their newborns.
As our female service members return home from deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan, babies will be born and families will expand. It's your job to make sure these women and their children are protected, just as our troops have kept us safe at home.
Thank you for your dedication to the health of our veterans and their families.
Sincerely,
